jika mendapat pesan error :
windows could not start because the following files is missing or corrupt
\windows\system32\config\system
atau
\windows\system32\config\software
lakukan langkah-langkah berikut :
1. Boot dari CD windows xP
2. Pada R pertama = opsi REPAIR, tekan R
3. tekan nomor lokasi instalasi windows xp. umumnya #1
4. ketik cd\windows\system32\config.
5. bergantung pada seksi mana yang korup, jalankan :
ren software software.bad atau ren system system.bad
6. bergantung pada seksi mana yang korup, jalankan :
copy \windows\repair\system
copy \windows\repair\software
7.keluarkan cd- dan ketik exit
